TrainingMate Connect Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information TrainingMate Connect ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

When you create an account or use the App, we collect:

  • Account info: email, password (hashed), username.
  • Profile data you choose to share: name, age, sport, level, goal, bio, profile photo, optional competition information.
  • Location: a single coordinate pair (latitude/longitude) used to compute distances between users. Stored only when you grant permission and tap "Use my GPS location".
  • Activity data: your swipes, matches, messages and timestamps.
  • Technical data: device type and basic logs needed to operate the service and keep it secure.

2. How we use your data

  • To authenticate you and keep your account secure (JWT tokens, password hashing with bcrypt).
  • To show you potential training partners in Discover, filtered by sport, level, goal and distance.
  • To enable matching and chat between two users who have both swiped right on each other.
  • To investigate abuse, enforce our Terms, and improve the App.

3. What we share

Your public profile (name, age, sport, level, goal, bio, photo, distance) is visible to other users in Discover and to people you match with.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for advertising.

We may share data with service providers strictly needed to run the App (hosting, database, analytics for crashes). These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards.

4. Your choices

  • You can edit or remove most profile fields from the Profile screen.
  • You can disable Location access in your device settings at any time. Without location, distance-based filtering will not work for you.
  • You can unmatch from any chat. Unmatching deletes that conversation.
  • You can delete your account from the Profile screen. Deletion is permanent and removes your profile, swipes, matches and messages.

5. Data retention

We keep your data while your account exists.

When you delete your account we remove your profile and associated swipes, matches and messages from active systems. Backups, if any, are rotated on a regular schedule.

6. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sessions use signed JWT tokens. We use HTTPS in transit.

No system is 100% secure. Please use a strong, unique password and contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.

7. Children

TrainingMate Connect is intended for users aged 18 years and older. Users under the age of 18 are not permitted to create accounts or use the platform.
